On behalf of Ooltewah High School Band Boosters, I am writing to invite you to be a part of our 1st Annual Partner in Music Education Golf Tournament. The funds raised will be used to provide scholarships for families and children who could not otherwise participate in band and also to support replacement of worn out band instruments and equipment. The tournament will be held at Bear Trace Golf Club on Friday, May 13, 2011(tentatively).
For several years, we have had a special relationship with our community partners. Since the Hamilton County School system provides essentially zero funding for the band programs, it is our goal to ensure that any high school student who is willing to put forth the required effort to participate in our band program, is afforded the opportunity to do so. We do this through a matching scholarship program. We typically contribute over $5,000 to our scholarship students.
Practically our entire inventory of band owned instruments are worn out as they have experienced well over 25 years of use. Only in the past year have we been able to replace 3 tubas thanks to a generous donation from one of our partners.
In addition to financial support, Ooltewah Band Booster parents volunteer many hours helping the school and band with general repairs. This year’s golf tournament proceeds will also provide funding for projects that would not otherwise be available without your help.
We have several different options to show your support. Your sponsorship ensures the success of the tournament. You may select more than one!
Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze Sponsorship includes an invitation to attend a reception on Thursday evening. Additionally, the sponsorship includes your company’s name advertised on one of the 18 tees and recognition in our tournament brochure as well as recognition as a sponsor throughout the following school year.
Your contribution is considered a charitable contribution. The OHS Band Boosters, Inc. is recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c) 3.Your check for sponsorship should be made payable to Ooltewah High School Band Boosters and mailed to Jerry Katz, as indicated on the enclosed information and entry form.
